About Us

Hi, I'm Ashley — the heart behind The Red Barn. What began in 2019 as a small online women's clothing boutique has grown, evolved, and transformed alongside my life and family. From an online-only shop to a mobile boutique, to opening our first brick-and-mortar location in East Moline in 2020, and eventually planting roots in my hometown of Geneseo in 2023 — this journey has been one of growth, creativity, and heart.

With the opening of our Geneseo location, we rebranded from Red Barn Boutique to The Red Barn, expanding our offerings to include clothing for men and kids, as well as unique experiences like our custom hat bar and permanent jewelry.

Now, after six years in retail and the recent joy of welcoming our baby boy, my husband and I are embracing a new season of life — one rooted in family, home, and hospitality.

While we are closing the boutique chapter of The Red Barn, we’re excited to breathe new life into our space as a cozy gathering and event venue for showers, birthdays, meetings, and more.

We’ll continue to offer our custom hat bar and permanent jewelry services by appointment in-store and also for your parties and events. And you'll still see us hosting pop-up events, collaborating with small businesses, and being part of the Geneseo community we love.

Our loyal four-legged “store managers” have also been a big part of The Red Barn story. They've truly loved meeting and greeting customers over the years — always eager to say hello and bring a little extra joy to your visit. They've been part of the charm, and just like us, they’re excited to continue welcoming friendly faces in this next chapter.

The Red Barn name remains — deeply tied to my roots on a family farm that’s been in our family for nearly 150 years. Those red barns, both from my childhood and now on our own farm, are symbols of warmth, comfort, and home — exactly the feeling we hope to share with you in this new chapter.
